Acceptance is the ability to accept the realities of our life. It means we stop responding ineffectively when things don't go our way. This in itself can feel like a harsh reality and can often feel unfair. Life is not fair and it's our responsibility to stop fighting that notion. Pain is a natural part of life and isn't a signal something is wrong with us. One of the most important concepts of acceptance is that it does NOT mean we are approving of our circumstances. This is an important distinction when learning about acceptance.
